Senior Structural Engineer

The Role: We are looking for a Structural Engineer who would like to join an organisation to work on a variety of projects including housing, commercial and industrial developments. There will also be opportunities for progression within the firm..

Academic Requirements: We are looking for our ideal candidate to have a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (or Equivalent) and be Chartered or working towards with ICE or IStructE.
- The structural design of Steel Frame, Concrete Frame, Portal Frame and Traditional Domestic structures,
- A knowledge of software packages such as MasterSeries and CSC Fastrak, Strand7 to assist with calculations and structural design,
- The preparation and review of drawings and detailing of the systems designed,
- Report writing and preparation of design quotes,
- The supervision and checking and signing off of work,
- The coordination of work with engineers of other disciplines,
- To attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues with them,
- Good commercial and financial awareness of project costings.

Our Projects: We work on a variety of structural work ranging from Building Restoration to Commercial and Retail, High Rise and Low Rise Housing Developments and Public Buildings. Some of our most recent projects have been with Sheffield University, Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Tata Steel, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and Sheffield United alongside many of the major house builders. We pride ourselves on longstanding relationships with many of our clients who enjoy our personal and reactive service.
Our Location: Sheffield is a popular vibrant city to live and work and is home to over half a million people, including more than 60,000 students linked to both Sheffield University and Sheffield Hallam University. The city is bordering the beautiful Peak District National Park which offers plenty of outdoor activities. The Eastwood and Partners office is nestled in the leafy south west of the city which is a 5 minute walk from Ecclesall Road and Sharrowvale Road.
Ecclesall Road stretches for nearly three miles and is well known for its vast range of restaurants, bars, cafés and shops and boutiques. Sharrowvale Road is quieter, with more of a village atmosphere, where good local shops, delis and traditional pubs share the tree lined residential streets. Ecclesall Road has some of Sheffield’s very best green spaces with the Botanical Gardens and Endcliffe Park nearby. The parks regularly host a great range of special events including circuses, fairs and openair concerts throughout the summer.
