This year we welcome four new Graduate Engineers and one placement student to our Sheffield office.

Ben Mincher is joining us as a placement student, Mike Yaxley, Samual Hinson, Sarah Illingworth, Lloyd Woolacott joined the firm as Graduate Engineers in Summer of 2015 after graduating from local universities, and have quickly settled in to their new roles, taking on their own projects and becoming integral parts of their respective teams.

A little bit about our new engineers:

Ben: “I have just finished my 2nd year at the University of Coventry, and am spending my placement year with Eastwood & Partners. I study Civil Engineering, and am currently working on housing designs and plot drainage. I chose Eastwood & Partners for a variety of reasons but mainly due to the range of experience I could gain from working with a large variety of people, from graduates to directors.”

Mike: “I graduated from Durham University with a BSc Geology degree this summer. I have now joined Eastwood & Partners as a Graduate Geotechnical and Geo-environmental engineer and have been in the role for seven weeks. I’ve been involved in a range of different projects since starting, including coal mining risk assessments, contaminated land investigations, chemical analysis and intrusive ground investigations.”

Samual: “I have recently graduated from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Civil Engineering. Since joining Eastwood and Partners I have been involved with the design of new housing developments with a particular focus on highway and drainage design.”

Sarah: “I graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2014 having studied Geology and Physical Geography. After having a year out to travel, I joined Eastwood and Partners as Geotechnical Administrator in May 2015 and quickly progressed to a graduate Geo-technical and Geo-environmental Engineer in July 2015. I am now working on a number of different site investigations across the UK which involves desk studies and site visits to determine the ground conditions of a particular area.”

Lloyd: “I’m Lloyd, and I studied Civil Engineering at the University of Sheffield. I am now a graduate engineer working in the structural engineering department at Eastwood & Partners, and am currently working on structural calculations for housing projects.”

We’re thrilled to have such enthusiastic and capable graduates joining our team, and look forward to watching them progress during their time at Eastwood & Partners. Welcome to the company.
